Cyberleek Announces 'End of the Road,' Vows to Stop GTA 6 Leaks Ahead of Launch
The protracted GTA 6 leak saga associated with the account known as Cyberleek appears to have reached its conclusion — at least in terms of active releases. In a three-part statement titled "End of the Road," published on October 14, the leaker announced they would not be releasing a complete playable build of the game, nor uploading any additional early gameplay footage. After months of escalating threats, spoiler roadmaps, and cryptocurrency extortion, the announcement marks a notable shift in tone from an operation that had rattled both Take-Two Interactive and segments of the GTA fanbase.
In the statement, Cyberleek confirmed they possess a recording of the game's ending but said they have chosen not to publish it, citing a desire not to ruin the experience for players ahead of the November 19 launch. They also addressed the collapse of their meme coin — which peaked well below the million threshold the leaker had set as a trigger for releasing the full build — denying that the token was designed as a financial scam. Cyberleek characterized the coin as a voluntary donation mechanism rather than a structured scheme, a framing that most observers have found difficult to accept given the explicit extortionary framing used during the campaign.
Despite the apparent stand-down, the leaker stopped well short of a clean exit. They warned that a "dead man's switch" remains in place: if any party attempts to remove Cyberleek's cached content, the remaining story spoilers would be automatically released. The threat is consistent with the leaker's pattern of maintaining leverage even while appearing to de-escalate. Kotaku notes that Cyberleek's messaging has been inconsistent throughout the campaign, and that legal proceedings initiated by Take-Two Interactive — including subpoenas of Microsoft and Discord to identify the leaker — are likely still ongoing regardless of the announcement.
