Cyberleek's Ninth GTA 6 Clip Debuts the Wasted Screen and Names Lucia for the First Time

A ninth Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay clip from the anonymous Cyberleek account emerged on August 23, continuing what has become an almost daily drip-feed of unauthorized footage in the days leading up to Rockstar's official Extended Look on Netflix. Titled internally as "gas2," the clip runs just over two minutes and revisits the gas-station setting glimpsed in an earlier upload — this time framing a more elaborate encounter between protagonist Jason Duval and a paranoid NPC.

The centrepiece of the footage is a Florida Man-style easter egg: an NPC is discovered filling a pickup-truck bed with gasoline, shouting "the government is stealing my gas" when Jason approaches. The scene lampoons a real strand of American folk paranoia, and observers noted it appears to reference documented 2020 and 2022 incidents. After a brief confrontation, Jason steals the fuel-laden truck, which crashes spectacularly seconds later, triggering what appears to be GTA 6's Wasted screen — the first time the death sequence has surfaced in any of the Cyberleek clips. Commentators noted the screen's design may still be a placeholder from the build in question.

The clip's final seconds proved most significant to fans tracking the leak series. A "Return to Lucia" objective appears along the bottom of the screen, providing the first on-screen acknowledgement of co-protagonist Lucia Caminos in nine clips of footage — all of which had previously focused exclusively on Jason. The objective's phrasing suggests the two characters operate in separate locations at certain points in the story, with the player switching between them, and it fuelled immediate speculation that Cyberleek's build contains playable Lucia sections yet to be released.

As with all eight clips that preceded it, Rockstar Games has not publicly commented on the specific content of this footage, and the authenticity of the material beyond what has already been confirmed cannot be independently verified. The clips are being treated as unconfirmed until Rockstar speaks. With the official GTA VI Extended Look still scheduled for August 27 on Netflix, the clip arrives three days before Rockstar is expected to show the game on its own terms — a timeline the company's silence suggests it is determined to keep.
