GTA 6 PC Version Reportedly Targeting Q1 2027 Launch
A report from GamesBeat, citing four people with knowledge of Rockstar’s internal plans, claims that Grand Theft Auto 6 is targeting a PC release in the first quarter of 2027 — meaning sometime between January and March, just a few months after the game’s November 19, 2026 console debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
If accurate, that timeline would mark a dramatic departure from Rockstar’s historical approach to PC ports. Grand Theft Auto V launched on consoles in September 2013 and didn’t arrive on PC until April 2015 — nearly two years later. Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar pattern, releasing on consoles in October 2018 before reaching PC in November 2019. A Q1 2027 window would compress that gap to under six months.
The report acknowledges that Rockstar is unlikely to publicly confirm or deny any PC plans in the near term, as doing so would risk dampening console pre-orders ahead of launch. GTA 6 has already generated an estimated million in pre-orders globally, and Rockstar will want that momentum to hold through November.
Neither Rockstar Games nor parent company Take-Two Interactive has commented on the report. For now, the PC version remains officially unannounced, and the claim should be treated as unconfirmed.
