Real-Life GTA 6 Cars Hit Miami Streets in Vice City Marketing Stunt

With Grand Theft Auto VI just over a month from its November 19 launch, Rockstar's real-world Miami campaign has escalated beyond billboards and blimp flyovers. A convoy of custom-wrapped vehicles styled after iconic GTA 6 cars was spotted cruising through Miami streets on October 16, turning heads and sending fans into a frenzy on social media. The cars bear fictional Leonida state license plates and liveries lifted directly from the game's Vice City setting, blurring the line between the real Florida cityscape and its pixelated counterpart.

Among the vehicles photographed were a Lamborghini Huracán wrapped in Vice Beach Police livery — a nod to the law-enforcement cars seen in trailers — alongside a Chevrolet Corvette painted to resemble the in-game Coquette, a McLaren wearing the look of a high-end in-game supercar, and smaller models echoing the Cheetah, Tempesta, and Manana. Rockstar has not officially confirmed the stunt, but the branding is consistent with prior campaign materials, and multiple outlets attribute the activation to the studio's promotional team. The Lamborghini itself will not appear in the finished game; Rockstar uses the manufacturer as visual inspiration for its own fictional marques.

The street-level activation is the latest move in an unusually visible pre-launch push that has already included a Vice City-branded blimp above Miami, a stadium naming partnership with the Miami Heat, and a formal city agreement that came down to a narrow 4-to-3 vote among Miami Beach commissioners. The campaign has not been without controversy: some Miami-Dade officials have publicly objected, with one reportedly arguing that the branding depicts the city as a murder capital. Rockstar has not responded to those criticisms publicly, and the promotional convoy rolls on regardless.
